No Such Thing As Fear

Lately God has been reminding me that he knows best, and I have to trust him. If he is telling me to do something NOW, I need to trust him that it is the right thing to do, and actually do it NOW. Fear is something that does not exist, and should not exist. II Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”(NLT) God did not create me to fear the unknown; he created me to embrace it.
We should become like children. Matthew 18:3 says, “Then he said, ‘I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.’”(NLT)We must become like children, because they do not fear. Little children will go up to anyone no matter what they appear to be on the outside and talk to them as if they are there best friend. We need to go up to anyone and everyone and tell them about Christ, Everyone should have a chance to hear the good news.
So why do we not go up to people and talk to them about Christ, we say we are afraid, but God did not give us the spirit of fear.  Fear is the devil’s work. The devil will do anything to stop us from telling others about Christ. The fear we say we feel is the devil trying to trick us. God commands us to go an make disciples (Matthew 28:19), so say that we are afraid and then not doing is like showing God the we don’t trust him and we think that his commandments are not for us. We are saying we are better than God is, but that is not true.
I would not be where I am today if it was not for God. He created everything, including you and me. I know that there are times that I cannot see the other side, but god tells me that he is with me and I can TRUST in him. He tells us that, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” in Hebrews 13:5 (ESV).
So why is it that we fear? We fear because the devil is tricking us.
God has been telling me lately that I need to become like a child, to get rid of my fear, and just to trust him. I need to let him take control of my life, I need to sit in the passenger seat and let him get behind the wheel.
Thank you to those in my life who have been God’s messengers to me lately, reminding me multiple times that I need to TRUST God, and not lean on my own understandings.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV).
